Ram was born and brought up in Chennai having graduated in English Literature from Loyola College, Chennai. He started off in sales for a year with Hindustan Reprographics Limited (HCL now) and then moved into the world of advertising and marketing for two decades.

his long career in the advertising & marketing took him to global companies like Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis and Standard Chartered Bank. He has spent most of his professional career outside India in the Middle East. Ram was a Shopper Marketing specialist with the Saatchi & Saatchi X team.

Ram has been involved in events that have had a lasting impact on him and those around him. In 1995 Ram cycled across Lebanon raising money for 2 children’s charities in Beirut and Dubai. Following this, he cycled close to 4,000Kms across India from Jammu to Kanyakumari in the year 2000, raising money for the Neelbagh School, run by the Aashraya Trust, Bangalore.

ram and his wife had also started the fertility support group and an informal adoption support group when they lived in dubai and continue to counsel those in need of help in these areas.

a significant life event in 1996 promoted ram to explore the ‘mind’ component of human beings. he believes that we were all taught to look after our bodies very well, but we lack knowledge, skills and practices to look after our minds. this led him to start exploring the many strategies available in the world on how to look after our minds, and he underwent training in reiki, pranic healing, past life regression, rebirthing breathwork, yog & pranayams, and vipassana meditation.

ram is the immediate past president of the karnataka tourism forum  and has worked with unep and the un foundation to bring the global sustainable tourism criteria into india. ram is a member of the election committee for electing board members for the gstc . he was invited by the ministry of tourism, government of india to serve on the planning projects committee for tiger conservation in the country. he is a member of the special committee on tourism of the bangalore chamber of commerce and industry, a member of the innovation & technology committee, and tourism committee of federation of karnataka chamber of commerce & industry.

 ram lives in bangalore with his wife lalitha, and his daughter aakanksha, and his son akshay.
